Save Fuel With Bosch CO2 Sensor

If you have been looking for ways so as to save on the much expensive fuel, you may want to try out the new carbon dioxide sensor that has been created by Bosch. The company calls their new creation the Climate Control Sensor (or the CCS) and what it does is that it keeps an eye on the carbon dioxide level in the passenger area of a vehicle. And while it does such a task, it also does increase the effectiveness of the vehicle's air conditioning system.

The total effect of the Bosch Climate Control Sensor is that the air conditioning system does work well and in the process the vehicle does not need much energy. And this translates to lesser usage and consumption of fuel. And that much you would be saving on fuel, you sure can make use in purchasing other auto products for your vehicle like perhaps EBC pads or maybe new auto parts.

What happens when the CCS is doing its work well? When there is fresh air in the passenger cabin of a vehicle, the CCS tracks this and then sends signals to the air conditioning system to transfer to recirculation. During this period of recirculation, the air conditioner does not need much energy. And according to engineers and designers of this product, they are estimating that users of the Bosch CCS would be able to save to a high of 10 percent on fuel.

Known as one of the leaders in the field of industrial technology and automotive technology, the Bosch Group is one of the most popular brands that consumers trust. The company started out back in the year 1886 when Robert Bosch created this one as the "Workshop for Precision Mechanics and Electrical Engineering" which is the previous name of the Bosch Group. At present, the company has around 280 subsidiaries as well as service centers that are over 12,000 in number. All of these are scattered all over the globe.

Car Insurance Myths Continue To Mystify Consumers

If consumers had a better understanding of car insurance, they might have better coverage and save a lot of money, too. Automobile insurance is not an item that many people ponder often, and due to this, a lot of insurance myths abound. For a lot of people, auto insurance is considered only when buying a new vehicle.

Below are several myths that people regularly misunderstand about car insurance:

Myth: Lower deductibles are better, so you will not need to "pay out" should an accident occur.

Fact: It makes much more sense to carry the highest deductible you can afford to pay, as you will save a lot of cash on your premiums. Many consumers are paying quite a bit of extra money in premiums for the benefit of having small deductibles. Do not pay extra in order to have a low deductible; it isn't a good value. Auto insurance is not intended to pay for every insignificant expense; it is designed to cover big expenses that would place a strain on your finances.

Myth: The color of a car determines the amount of the premium.

Fact: This myth has persisted for decades; the prevalent rumor is that red cars cost more to protect than those of other colors because that particular color is "sporty." This is just a rumor; the color of a car does not affect the amount of money you will pay to insure it.

Myth: You do not have a need for any more coverage than state law requires.

Fact: The minimum amount of liability coverage might not help you if you cause a wreck with a luxury car or if you cause substantial bodily harm to another party in an accident. You should consider carrying more insurance than the required minimum so that you might avoid a potential lawsuit.

Myth: Less expensive vehicles cost more to insure than more expensive models.

Fact: The main factor isn't the cost; it's this - how likely is it that a particular car will cost the insurance company cash in the form of a payout? The price of the vehicle has little to do with the cost of covering it. The insurance premiums are determined by a number of factors, including how much the vehicle will cost to repair and the likelihood of theft of the vehicle.

Myth: The government sets rates, so there is no reason to shop around for the best price.

Fact: The United States government has no influence as to how pricing is established. The states do have some say in how pricing works in a particular state, but the figures are just guidelines. Consumers can save money by comparing companies for the best price, and wise shoppers will do so.

Staying informed about car insurance can not only protect you, but it can also save you money. It's well worth your time to know the difference between insurance myths and facts.

A Closer Look at the HUMMER H3 Alpha

Before it goes on sale this summer, General Motors will first showcase the HUMMER H3 Alpha at the forthcoming 2007 New York International Auto Show (NYIAS). The H3 Alpha is the second model that will join HUMMER's Alpha model series.

"H3 Alpha is, simply, the ultimate HUMMER H3. It delivers all of H3's renowned off-road capability, but with enhanced performance that is suited to a variety of lifestyles." said Martin Walsh, HUMMER General Manager.

"Because HUMMER stands for more than just off-road performance, the H3 Alpha builds on the style and refinement of the H3 lineup and offers a unique, instantly recognizable statement on the road. In short, the H3 Alpha matches HUMMER's off-road expectations with on-road attitude. Details matter and our customers told us these details were particularly important, so we updated the H3 lineup to address them." he added.

Powering the H3 Alpha is a monstrous 5.3-liter V8 engine that belongs to GM's legendary small-block V8 range, which is similar to the power plant under the hood of Chevrolet Silverado truck. The engine pumps out a maximum 295 horsepower (224 kW) and produces 317 lb.-ft. (438 Nm) amount of peak torque, mated to a Hydra-Matic 4L60 electronically controlled four-speed automatic gearbox. The engine allows the H3 Alpha to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 8 seconds, and offers a maximum towing capacity of 6,000 pounds.

Just like the other members of GM's small-block V-8 engines, the 5.3-liter found on the H3 Alpha also features advanced engine parts like deep-skirt cylinder block with cross-bolted main caps, high-flow cylinder heads, electronic throttle control,58x ignition system, e67 32-bit controller, polymer-coated pistons with full-floating wrist pins, returnless fuel system, lightweight valvetrain, steel camshaft, and low-restriction air intake system.

In spite of the engine's powerful driving and towing performance, the small-block V8 engine offers cleaner exhaust emissions and complies with the U.S. Federal emission standard, thanks to the iron exhaust manifolds with four close-coupled catalytic converters, similar to Mercedes oxygen sensors found on one of H3's competitor, the Mercedes-Benz G-Class.

"For jobs such as towing personal watercraft up a mountain to the lake, the small-block V-8's torque performs with effortless ease and little impact on fuel mileage. The 5.3L engine greatly broadens the H3's towing capability." said Christopher Meagher, Assistant Chief Engineer of small-block V-8 truck engines.

"All of the powertrain options in the H3 lineup deliver performance suited to different driving styles and needs. But when it comes to certain tasks such as towing, there is sometimes no substitute for a V-8 engine." he added.

Getting inside the vehicle, you can see the interior features and optional packages like HUMMER's Rear Vision system and a navigation system with new Turn-By-Turn Navigation feature, horn pad badge, and embroidered front headrests with the "Alpha" badge.

A host of advanced safety features are also offered as standard equipment including head curtain side air bags, StabiliTrak electronic stability control system, four-wheel antilock brakes with traction control, dual front air bags with passenger sensing system, tire pressure monitoring system, vehicle-to-vehicle crash compatibility, and LATCH rear child seat anchors.

The Right ATV Trailer

You got your new ATVs, now how do you get them out to the trails? You are going to haul them with your ATV trailer, of course. Now the only question is how do you find and use the right ATV trailer?

The size of the ATV trailer that you need will depend largely on how many ATVs you want to transport. Trailers range from sizes that can haul one or two ATVs to sizes that can haul six ATVs. Of course, if you only have one ATV to haul, and you own a pickup, you may only need a set of ramps and some tie downs. You will also want to consider what you are going to tow the ATVs with and make certain that vehicle can handle pulling a large load.

You will be able to find a wide variety of new ATV trailers at a variety of prices, but you also have the option to buy a used trailer. You can find used ATV trailers in your local newspaper classifieds or on the Internet. Before purchasing a used trailer, closely examine it to make sure that it is still in good working order.

You can also find plans to build your own ATV trailer on the web. Always use caution when making purchases on the web. Use reputable websites or websites recommended by friends. If the company is one that you have not heard of before, contact them. Talk to a company representative before you make your purchase. There are several different websites devoted to the do-it-yourself design and production of trailers.

Before using your ATV trailer, you will want to make sure that the tongue-mounting system is strong, sturdy, and reliable. Make sure it works without twisting, cracking, or bending. Pay special attention to the design of the main structural beams the axles are attached to. These beams have to bear the entire load of the trailer and may bend if they are not high quality. Also, the cross members should be strong and well-built. If not, they will twist and cause corner flex in the trailer's deck which will result in cracked welds. Always load and unload your ATVs with care. You do not want to risk damaging your quads or your trailer.

Correct use and correct towing will make or break your experience. When you are towing an ATV trailer behind you, no matter the size, always put safety first. Remember that the trailer will not stop as quickly as what your vehicle will brake. Speeding is never a good idea when hauling a trailer. As I noted, stopping is a little more difficult with a trailer, and it becomes much more difficult the faster you go. Also, the faster you go, the more sway the trailer will have.

You probably bought your ATVs to have an adventure, to get out there and explore places you have not been before. Hauling your quads and gear with an ATV trailer will make the trip easier and get you exploring that much faster!
